Seven Days until Chinese Taipei!

23 Feb by Chris (Chridder) Upson

The Australian Women’s National Softball Team – the Aussie Spirit – will be playing Chinese Taipei in a six-game series at Blacktown International Sports Park in early March, in the first international softball game on Australian soil since 2020.

In a tune-up for the upcoming Canada Cup (June/July) and the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in Italy in July, the series is another opportunity for players to prepare ahead of the final World Cup team selection.

Spectators will be excited by the news that entry is via gold coin donation, with every dollar going towards the Spirit players’ travel costs.

Sarah Loh, CEO of Softball Australia said "This is a fantastic opportunity for the Sydney softball community to get behind the Spirit with their first home games in four years. We’re looking forward to welcoming our friends in Chinese Taipei for a great series of intense competition on the diamond.

A big thank you to Softball NSW CEO Stuart Clark and his team for assisting us with the logistics of holding this international event at the 2000 Sydney Olympic venue."
