A big weekend of finals softball for our Cats, with our Division 6 superstars booking next week off, and a berth straight into the Grand Final, and our Under 17 Girls storming into a Prelimary Final next week. For our Div 7 Black and Under 14 Blue teams, it was a gallant finals effort, but unfortunately season over.

The Div 6 semi final began with hot bats from RockyOra, who pushed a strong early lead after just one innings as our Cats looked on shaky ground. But they drew on their experience, and slowly chipped away at that score, snatching a 9-7 victory in the final innings! Worthy winners after finishing the season on top of the ladder.

The Div 7 Black team went in against the Outlaws with strong form in the past few games, but the Outlaws were quick out of the blocks, putting plenty of runs over in the first as the Black Cats took a while to settle into the game. Great pitching from the Outlaws made it difficult to get back into the game, while every hit the Cats gave up seemed to find the gap. A tiring Cats let the scoreboard slip in the last innings – but a wonderful season nonetheless to finish in 4th place. A great crowd hung around to support too, for a game that finished close to 11pm!

Our Under 14 Blues fought hard against the Rebels, with some solid fielding not quite able to be backed up with the bats. In an entertaining game that showcased plenty of potential for the Cats’ future, our Blue Cats finished the season in 4th place in Division 2.

Our Under 17 Girls took their time building into the season, but consecutive wins at the back end allowed them to enter their semi final with plenty of confidence. And did they deliver! Power hitting, superb fielding, and aggressive base running that put pressure on the Rebels defence. A commanding victory that sees the girls up again next week in a Preliminary Final against the Woodies.
