🥎🥎RESULTS🥎🥎 - SENIORS ROUND 12 (JUNIORS - no rounds)

Div 5 hosted Rocky Ora @ Birralee with a wet start which thankfully cleared to provide reasonable game conditions.
It was a slow start but well disciplined batting and fielding by the Cats eventually saw them overtake the Rockies into the last innings.
Rocky gave the Cats a scare as they started clawing back the Cats lead in the final dig but the Cats still had a batting innings up their sleve which, in the end, wasn’t needed as they finished them off with 1 run still ahead. Win 17-16.
Div7 Black Cats hosted the Jags, going down 10-4. Most of the damage was done in the first inning, and with 2 outs, with the visitors putting 7 across the plate.
The Cats struggled with the Jags pitching and weren’t able to put together sustained pressure. Good hits to newcomer Garry, Aidan, Alan and Jono paced the Cats attack.
Aidan also excelled behind the plate with a terrific back pick of a Jag runner on 1st base and a laser beam to 3rd when an overzealous Jag tried to turn a passed ball into two bases.
Div 7 Blue travelled to Outlaws for this week’s match-up and got off to a good start putting a run on the board at the top of the first against the ever-green Robbie Summers. The first two innings saw a tight tussle with solid offensive and defensive play balancing out with the score one all after two.
Top of the third and the Cats lets loose with the bats to put five runs on the board while holding the home team to just two.
Top of four and Mitchell put the Outlaws to the sword, literally, retiring the Outlaws pitcher with a hard hit ball to the ankle.
With drizzling rain the Outlaw relievers struggled for control while the Cats took advantage adding another six runs to the scoreboard.
In deteriorating conditions, the Cats defence held firm, running out winners 15-6
Div 8 avoided the rain by swapping to the earlier 1pm time slot.
However our heads must of still been at 3pm as we let Morley get out to a 14-0 head start after the 1st innings.
We fought back but the damage was done going down 18-8.
Highlight of the game was Knobby coming in to pitch for the last innings. 5 batters for 3 outs and no runs
Div 9 had a enjoyable and dry game at home against Rocky Ora on Sunday.
Over 5 innings we lost 27-13 with most of the difference in the first innings when they scored 11 to our 1
With several players playing out of their normal positions, and Chridder and Elmo pitching, after the first innings we held them to near parity.
It was a good team effort with 9 of 10 players involved in making outs and 8 of 10 scoring runs.
Howie and Bernie were the standouts in the corners with 5 out involvements each and Chridder, Maxi and Russ batting 3 from 4.
