Div 5 Carine Cats vs Fremantle Rebels
Sunday’s clash with Fremantle started brightly for us, with Ewie driving in the opening run in the first inning. We hit back again in the third to regain a 3–2 lead, but Fremantle answered with a big inning of their own to take control. From there, we created chances but couldn’t quite string enough hits together to close the gap, finishing on the wrong side of an 8–3 scoreline.
Ewie led the offence with two RBIs and a stolen base, while Adam and Ben also added hits. Beej’s patience at the plate earned him two walks, and as a team we worked six walks for the game. In the field, we turned a double play and came up with some sharp catches from Beej, Danny, and Adam to shut down key threats. While the result wasn’t what we wanted, the work rate and commitment in the field were pleasing, and we’ll take those positives into our next outing. 🐾⚾

Div 7 Black Cats hosted the Outlaws and lost a very winnable game 21-26 in which they didn’t trail in until the end.
Despite good Cats pitching from Michael and Peekey the Outlaws consistently hit the ball hard and found gaps all day. And when they hit it to a Cat fielder, they still managed to be safe as the Cats turned  in all manner of errors to keep the Outlaws going.
On the offensive side the Cats bats were consistently good with Mooney hitting two home runs while Nick and Garry chipped in with one a piece.
After Frags and Simon featured rundowns at Thursday’s training the Cats even managed a text book 6-3-4-6-5 inning ending out after catching a young Outlaw baserunner hung out between 1st and 2nd. Even better…. The Outlaw baserunner on 3rd sat and watched rather than heading home to score an extra run.

Div 7 Carine Cats Blue made the long trip south to face Rocky Ora in a pivotal battle for fourth place on the ladder. The Cats started positively, posting two runs in each of the first two innings. However, Rocky Ora answered with a big five-run second inning to take the lead. The middle frames turned into a tight defensive tussle, with both sides adding just a single run apiece, leaving the Cats trailing 7–5 heading into the sixth and final dig.
Mitchell sparked the rally with a lead-off walk, advancing on a passed ball and a fielders choice from Wardie before Hotdogs smashed a double to drive him in. Yank then singled to left, scoring Oliver (DR running for Hotdogs) to tie the game. Yank moved to third on another passed ball and an infield chopper from Angus but was caught stealing home on a throw-over play.
Defending the tie in the bottom of six, the Cats muffed a throw to first only to have the Rocky Ora runner inadvertently kick the ball into right field and advance to third. Another soft ground ball allowed the walk-off run.
The Cats out-hit Rocky Ora 10–6, with standout performances from Chris Berryman and Jacob Arto (2 from 3 and a triple each), and doubles to Yank and Hotdogs, but five Cats errors to zero proved to be the difference. Rocky Ora win 8-7.  Cats Blue are now 2 games out of fourth spot with three games to play :(

Div 8 travelled over to Kingsway to take on the league leaders Vikings. Playing on Dia 2, we all felt very special until we saw the bog outside the dugout door.
We matched it with vikings all game until Knobby hit the bog a little too fast, slipped and hurt his knee with 10 mins of game to go. Vikings used our distraction to get the required runs across the plate but the guys can hold their heads high with this performance. Final score 10-9 to Vikings

Div 9 enjoyed the sunshine to have a 13-1 win in the battle of the Cats against the Cougars at Birralee
Cougars started the game without scoring in the first innings due to some sharp fielding from the cats.
The cats then had a 2 out rally to score 4 runs to put us in front where we stayed for the rest of the day.
Cougars only scored 1 run in their 4 innings at bat with some great fielding and only one error from the cats.
Chridder pitched 41 pitches for the day with no walks across the 4 innings.
Cats batters however picked up 8 walks from the Cougars and 3 hit by pitches of which 2 were accounted for by Bernie. Hope they dont hurt too much as the pitcher was quite quick but erratic.
Russ, Geoff and Sean with 9 of the put outs between them accounted for most of the plays with the infield being given a workout.
Although an enjoyable win the game was called early due to a medical episode from one of the Cougars players and we wish him the best in his recovery.

U14s – game report unavailable.
