🥎RESULTS🥎 - WEEK ENDING 9TH NOVEMBER 2025

12 Nov 2025 by Chris (Chridder) Upson

Div 1
It was a tough game that saw our team fall 10–5, but there were plenty of highlights to build on. Lacey showed great hustle, laying down a perfect bunt and beating the throw to first to get on base. Annaliese came up big with a powerful triple that fired everyone up in the second dig. In the third innings Scarlett kept the pressure on with a hard-hit ball that slipped right under the third baseman’s glove. The team battled hard at the plate and in the field with the whole field contributing to get outs, they showed determination right through to the last inning. It was also great to see Brianna back on the diamond after some time interstate — her energy and presence gave the team a real boost. Despite the loss, the game had plenty of positive moments and showed how well the group is coming together. With a few small adjustments and the same level of effort, the next game is sure to be even better. This weeks Whitfords Brewery award went to Brianna
Div 2
Div 2 went down 8-1 against Pirates in a game where the scoreline didn’t necessarily reflect our competitiveness. Twice we left bases loaded due to almost unavoidable line-drive double plays, while the Pirates bats were hot all day. Certainly a team we will compete well with when we put it altogether. This week’s voucher went to AJ for her always-tidy work behind the plate.
Div 4
Div 4 had the 9pm Friday slot this week, another late/ night time slot. We’ve forgotten what the sun looks like. This round pitted us against Woodlands. Woodlands started strong and jumped out to an early 5-2 lead before we got our bats humming and scored 12 of the next 13 runs to finish strong and take the win 14-6.
Div 5
The Div5 womens team saw Anna take to the field for the first time following her clearance from Injury. The team also welcomed Charlee back to the team, playing her first game this season. Things were starting to look up for the Cats, with tight fielding keeping Ellenbrook to just the 1 run across the first 3 innings. The cats however struggled with timing against the slow loopy Ellenbrook pitcher only managing 2 runs, with the slow, loopy pitching being a marked departure from the faster more consistent pitching seen in earlier games. Unfortunatley, our bad luck run of injury continues, with Jess catching the lip on the cutout leaving first, and rolling her ankle. The game went downhill from there, with Ellenbrook putting on runs in the 4th and 5th to take the win 16 to the cats 4. The standout, and todays voucher winner was Charlee, with at least 1 RBI and an outstanding center field catch.
Div 6
Carine Div 6 faced the big-hitting Renegades and went down 17–5, but not without some standout moments and injuries (Jo’s calf and Nadine’s quad). Emma’s go-go gadget arm at first was unstoppable, Tara made gravity-defying catches in left, and Jools somehow snagged balls in centre that had no business being caught. Chilli was a wall at short, stopping some mean grounders and line drives. An awesome out at home after a hit to the fence saw Tara to Chillie to Meredith and tag, she was out. The entire team fielded like an elite machine. Every batter took it to the pitcher with confident, aggressive hitting that kept the energy high from start to finish. Was such a great game to be part of! MVP Julie
Div 7
Div 7 managed to prove that persistence wins games. Whilst not a high quality game with 23 walks and 14 red runs between the teams for the day, it certainly had its moments. Down 6-2 at the end of the first with some quality pitch selection and a couple of clearing hits we added 16 runs in the second. We managed to hold them to 8 in the last to win against Jags 18-14 Jess wins the voucher for her in the park all run grand slam out on diamond 5.
U16s
Attempted bunts, successful bunts, steals, home runs, relay throws, attempted pick offs, backing up, great lead offs and base running all led to U16 playing their best team game of the season this far. The team showed persistence, fight and refused to roll over, putting on 7 runs in the last innings. We went down by 1 to Morley but we couldn’t be happier with how this young team is improving week on week. Huge thank you to Abbey and Georgia for filling in for Morley so we could actually play the game, looking forward to good softball karma coming back to us. iPlay voucher this week went to Mia who dropped an incredible bunt, constantly backed up bases all game and took a great catch at 3rd.
U14s Black
The black cats were up against a big hitting Morley team this week, who came out firing from the beginning to give our outfielders plenty of action. With Kayleigh being hit in head by a bouncing ball part way through the second innings whilst pitching seeing her retire from the game, Sienna stepped into the middle to make her pitching debut a little earlier than planned. The cats continued to work hard for the remainder of the game, but unfortunately were no match for Morley. Final Score Cats 6 to Morleys 18.
U14s Blue
Friday night’s game was very even playing another brand new team. Even though we went down 10-8, u14 blue showed huge progress in their pitching and fielding skills- making some great put outs. Special mention to Peggy who pitched two innings in her second game pitching and only walked one batter. Tess received the award for her fantastic work at first base.
Vets Black
Game washed out.
Vets Blue
Vets Blue battled hard but came up against a Pirates outfit who knew how to hit a ball. The score was Lots to Less, and although defensively there weren’t too many highlights, Dougie’s constant power hitting certainly was a masterclass and he was the deserving Whitfords winner!
