Div 1
In a hard-fought match against the Woodlands Wolves, our team came away with a well-earned 8–6 victory. From the first pitch, the improvement in our communication was clear, helping us stay organised, composed, and ready for every play. Kaitlyn was outstanding at first base, cleaning up the throws all game and giving the infield huge confidence with her reliability. Offensively, most of the team recorded a safe hit, consistently putting pressure on the Wolves’ defence. We capitalised on their errors with smart base running and timely contact, turning small opportunities into big moments on the scoreboard. Defensively, we held strong when it counted, backing each other up and keeping the energy high. It was a true whole-team effort—everyone contributed, everyone supported each other, and the result was a well-deserved win. Great work, team!

Div 2
Div 2 took on the young whippets in Woodies, who proved too strong for our mix of experienced veterans and up-and-coming ballers. With the aim of improving on our performance against them last time, we were fast out of the blocks, scoring the first run of the game to lead 1-0 after the first innings. From there, things turned for the wrong team in blue as they took charge and ran away with a 19-1 win. Tarah took out the Whitfords voucher after a great hit and a solid innings of pitching.

Div 4
Div 4 found out softball is played during the day light hours. We turned up for our 11am game, 1 of our 2 games before 5pm this side of Christmas. The game with Morley was tight for the first 2 innings before we scored 14 of the last 18 runs to win 15-6.

Div 5
With a proper full team for the first time this season, the Div 5 Ladies turned in a strong all-round performance on Friday evening against the Morley Eagles. Sarah set the tone early with solid, composed pitching that kept Morley’s hitters uncomfortable throughout the game. At the plate, the Cats were consistently dangerous, with excellent batting from top to bottom of the order helping them build steady scoreboard pressure. Out in the field, the Cats backed each other up with confident teamwork that shut down Morley’s opportunities. The standout moment came in the final inning when Patricia made a brilliant running catch in right field to close out the game in style. The Cats finished with a convincing 12–4 victory, a result that reflects their growing cohesion and confidence.

Div 6
Carine Cats Div 6 clawed out a 21–10 win over the Sirens with highlights everywhere you looked. Gemma pulled in classy grabs in left, Emma smashed a gorgeous right-field home run and backed it up with some great takes at first. Chillies turned a slick double play at short, and Julie launched into a full-send dive that was this close to being legendary. Kylie was cool as ice behind the plate with effortless stops, while Cheryl delivered clean hits and hustled hard up the line. Add in ninja-level base stealing, superstar fill-ins Meredith and Luigi, and Pam’s steady “hit it if you dare” pitching that kept the fielders having all the fun — and it all added up to one purr-fect Cats win.

Div 7 (Thurs)
Div 7 played their round 18 game (who knows) on Thursday night against the Vikings. In a tight game that had everyone (including the coach) on the edge of our seats. With 2 out in the final innings Knobby managed a hit to second base to score Steph for a hard fought 9-8 win to Carine. Denise, Knobby and Murph got on base each time they came to the plate. Knobby and Luigi stopped everything that came their way and had involvement in 8 of 12 outs for the game. Knobby earnt the Whitfords Voucher for the night.

Div 7 (Sat)
After Thursday nights cliffhanger Saturdays game was a bit less hectic. The game started off well with us managing to hold Wanneroo to 2 runs in the first innings with the last out by Fi like a Gazelle chasing down a slow roller back to the pitcher. Our first at bat had us almost batting through the lineup twice to score 11 with some big hits running across the field on Diamond 5. We managed to hold on to win 19-9. Standouts were Jess with 4 safe hits, Knobby with 3 doubles and Claire with 3 outfield hits. Voucher to Claire for great batting.

U16s
We went down to the undefeated Woodies this week, but so many of the things we’ve been working on clicked into place. The game started with a pre-game chat initiated and led by three of our players, and it set the tone - everyone contributed, and it was a genuine team effort from first pitch to last. Great hits and bunts, great fielding and outs and great leadership both on and off the field. Despite the loss, our girls couldn’t be faulted. So much to be proud of this week and we can’t wait to see our girls continue to shine and develop. Player of the week went to Alyssia for being an absolute wall at centre field, her constant talking and encouragement as well as some great hitting.

U14s Black
The Junior Black Cats faced off against Woodlands’ second team on Friday night, continuing to show encouraging improvement each week. In what became a slow and steady contest, the Cats’ pitchers demonstrated real growth, with Kayleigh and Sienna working hard through the middle innings before Holly stepped up for her debut in the middle. In the field, the team stayed focused and committed to their plays — and with the way they’re progressing, it won’t be long before they’re converting every one of them. At the plate, the young Cats delivered some exciting moments. Kayleigh launched a standout hit to the fence for a home run, while Holly punched a solid drive to centre field. The rest of the squad contributed as well, with every junior making contact at some stage. In the end, though, the Black Cats weren’t quite good enough on the night, going down 11–6 — but the signs of development are clear, and this group continues to move in the right direction each week.

U14s Blue
Carine Cats U14 Blue took on Morley Eagles Blue in a great contest against worthy opponents who brought both skill and outstanding sportsmanship. Despite the loss, there were plenty of highlights: Ava snagged a brilliant catch, Peggy and Liryc worked seamlessly for some sharp outs between second and first, and Lenay and Maddy hustled hard behind the plate at catcher. A solid game all round, with the team continuing to improve every week.
