🥎RESULTS🥎 - WEEK ENDING 7th DECEMBER 2025

11 Dec 2025 by Chris (Chridder) Upson

Div 1
Down 4–0 after the first innings, it looked like we were in for a long night — but the team refused to fold. Bit by bit we chipped away, backed by strong defence and smart work behind the plate. Caitlyn’s pitch calls were on point all game, keeping hitters guessing and helping our pitcher settle in as the momentum began to turn. The breakthrough came in the fourth when Kayla stepped up and crushed a home run, igniting the comeback.
In the fifth, Annaliese kept the pressure on by ripping a lead-off triple, setting up another scoring opportunity. She then delivered the defensive play of the game, making a full-speed running catch out of centre field to snag the third out just off the grass behind second base. With clutch hitting, sharp fielding, and composed leadership from behind the dish, we completed the comeback and secured a gritty 7–6 win. A true team effort from first pitch to last.

Div 2
Div 2 took on another Sirens team, limping to the start line with only 8 players (and three of those being fill-ins). With every player in the infield having to play out of position, it was a great effort to play as strongly as we did! We lost 8-3, with Summer taking out the voucher with some scrumptious bunts and body-on-the-line base running.

Div 4
Round 10 saw div 4 take on Sirens for the 3rd time this year with Sirens holding the upper hand 2-0.
We got off to a slow start going behind 6-0 after the first , then with a change of pitcher and the batters adjusting we turned the tables to be up 7-6 after two innings.
The next 3 innings were tight with the Sirens needing 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to win. Cats held firm and got the 3 outs without giving up a run to win 11-8
Whitfords voucher to Nic for an outstanding display at short stop

Div 5
The Div 5 Cats faced another late one this week, taking on a determined Balcatta Bears side in a 9:30pm Friday night matchup—just a week after giving the Bears a real scare in their Thursday night clash. Offensively, the Cats were able to get runners aboard throughout the night, but couldn’t quite turn those chances into runs. The Bears’ pressure and a few missed opportunities kept the Cats from building any momentum at the plate.
Defensively, the D1 clay proved unforgiving, sending up unpredictable bounces and making life difficult for the fielders. Georgia put in an excellent effort behind the plate in her second full game catching, and Alysia handled the middle well after stepping in for the second half. Despite the challenges, the Cats kept fighting right to the end, but ultimately fell short, going down 1–14 to the Bears.

Div 6
Nil report.

Div 7
Div 7 played the top of the table North Coast and held our heads high.
Five down in the last with one out and loaded bases a great catch and double play by their shortstop got them out of the innings to win.
Consistent batting and fielding by the whole team kept us in the game including a SS-1st- Catcher double play and some great hits including a hit to the fence on diamond 5.
Murph had 6 outs at home and also an assist to 1st.
Voucher this week to Fi for pitching the whole game with 4 strike outs and also batting 1000.

U16s
Tough game today with a 19–1 loss, but we used it as a chance to trial players in new positions and many girls really stepped up. Alyssia and Georgia made their pitching and catching debuts in 16s and did a wonderful job with all they’ve been learning and practicing.
Mia pulled off a brilliant catch and then dove back to 1st for a double play, and Abbey earned the iPlay voucher with some awesome stops at 2nd and a solid ground ball off the quickest pitcher in the comp.
Plenty of learning and still lots to be proud of.

U14s Black
After a bye last week and running a little light on numbers, the U14 Black Cats stepped up to take on an undefeated Sirens side for the second straight game. The team worked hard on both sides of the ball, putting their training into action and showing clear improvement in their approach at the plate. While every player managed to make contact, the Sirens’ sharp and speedy fielding meant the Cats couldn’t quite turn those hits into runs.
Defensively, the Cats gave it everything—attacking the ball, communicating well, and doing their best to limit the damage against a strong batting lineup. Their effort and commitment were clear across all innings, even as the pressure built. Despite their hard work, the Junior Black Cats couldn’t break through on the scoreboard, finishing with a 0–10 loss to a polished Sirens outfit.

U14s Blue
U14 Blue played against Woodland Wolves grey on Friday night which was likely our best game to date! Some fantastic consistency on the pitching mound from Peggy to earn her the player of the week 👏🏻 plus a home run from Maddy with a red hot ground-ball that caught all the fielders off guard. Plus we had our first innings to close with 6 over the plate! The entire team was switched on in the field and in the batting box. Even though we are yet to claim a win I am so beyond proud of the way these kids are improving every single week and the happy positive attitude they bring to the game is amazing. Well done to them all!

Vets Black
Mens Vets Black had an enjoyable win against Woodlands last week.
In a low scoring game the Cats managed to come over the Woodlands in the last innings.
An over the fence home run to Yank and then some great running by Chridder to score the winning run on the batting from Mark as time ran out.
Seven of the 10 players scored runs and the field held strong including a couple of great catches and including a run saving right field to short to home tag out.
Lester was presented the award for a great catch and fielding at second base.

Vets Blue
Nil report.
