🥎RESULTS🥎 - WEEK ENDING 14th DECEMBER 2025

21 Dec 2025 by Chris (Chridder) Upson

Div 1
The team earned a gritty 6–5 win in five and a half innings, setting the tone early with an aggressive and confident approach at the plate. We came in ready to hit the ball hard, and that intent showed in the second innings when we piled on four runs. Aggressive base running kept constant pressure on the defence, turning solid contact into scoring opportunities.
Offensively, seven of our players drove the ball into the outfield, showing depth through the lineup and a willingness to attack good pitches. Going into the fourth innings it was four all ball game. Defensively, the highlight came in the fourth innings with Kayla catching a line drive then Lacey executing a crucial double play to shut down a scoring threat and swing momentum back our way. In a tight finish, our combination of early offence, strong defence, and relentless energy proved the difference in sealing a well-deserved one-run victory.

Div 2
Div 2 took on the heat and the Pirates in a defensive game. Jumping us early, the Cats went into the final innings down 5-2 before a great team batting and running display applied the pressure. With two out, scores level, and runners on two and three, Paige stepped up to slap a right field walk off winning single (and the voucher!). Lily was massive at pitcher and Millsy was great in the box, consistently getting on base.

Div 4
This week we were blinded by the light! Our 2nd game for the year played before 5pm.
The cats took on a depleted Ravens who only had 8 players. That being said they got out to an early 3 run lead before we clawed it back to 4-3 our way. Then a 12 run innings by us blew the game apart. Cats taking the mercy win 19-4.
Whitfords Voucher went to Sue with another standout performance at 1st base

Div 5 - Round 18 (Thursday Night, 11/12) - Div 5 donned their nocturnal glasses for another night game this season! Thankfully it was a slightly earlier 6.30pm game for the first of our ‘double header’ against Balga Bandits.
It took the team a couple of innings to get going offensively, but once they settled in they had a cracker of a 3rd innings, getting 6 runs across the plate.
Defensively, there were some great put outs and catches by the infield and our outfielders had some great fielding efforts to minimise the influence of the Balga batters.
While the final score was a 16-6 loss, it didn’t reflect how close the game actually was.
Winner of the voucher for the game was Emma, with some great outs at 1st base and an awesome assist on a tag play at 2nd base.

Div 5 - Round 11 (Saturday 13/12) - Under a hot Saturday afternoon sun, the Div 5 Women faced the Balga Bandits for the second time in as many days. The Cats started well with the bats, matching Balga’s opening five runs and then holding the Bandits scoreless in the second innings. As the game progressed, Balga were able to edge ahead and set the Cats a target of four runs to draw, but with the heat taking its toll, the Cats were only able to add one run in the final innings.
Defensively, the Cats were strong throughout the game, highlighted by a near-perfect left-field relay that narrowly missed a tag-out at home, a well-taken shallow centre-field juggle catch by Charlee and Patty, and an excellent performance at shortstop from Anna (3 fly ball catches). While Balga eventually secured a 10–6 win, the Cats showed clear improvement, more than halving the run margin compared to the match played two nights earlier.

Div 6
Carine Cats Div 6 Ladies had a big 16–3 win over the Balga Bandits in a fun game of Bikram softball. Julie almost gifted herself a birthday home run, only to be called out at home in a highly controversial moment. Nadine was on fire at third, snagging some sweet outs — including a line drive she barely had time to see before it hit her mitt. Betty showed great smarts with a tidy second tag out following an infield fly, and Kylie heroically caught the entire game without melting into a puddle. A fantastic team effort and a well-earned win — happy days! 🥎🎉
MVP was birthday girl Julie.

Div 7
On a hot afternoon out the back the Cats managed to hold off the young Jaguars.
Renae had 4 strikeouts and a catch at pitcher.
The field backed her up with a great catch in the outfield by Steph and situation awareness by Murph to get a double play off a dropped third strike.
This limited the Jags to only 2 runs for the game.
Our offence was strong with us scoring 14 runs evenly spread over most of the players.

U16s
U16 scored 1 run in their first inning before racing to 19 runs by the fourth. We held Jags to 1 run all game before a late charge by then in the last inning made the final score 19-9.
A great catch by Georgia at 3rd base and a great knockdown, recovery and throw to 1st for the out were some fielding highlights along with our outfield who charged at balls and backed up bases as we’d practiced at training on Tuesday.
Solid hitting and at bats and switched on base running by everyone capitalised on the big score we were able to put.
This weeks voucher winner went to Kelsie who is constantly a quiet achiever of the team. A home run, delayed steal, pick off at 2nd and some brilliant work behind the plate with blocks and perfect pitch calling all contributed to her winning the award today.

U14s Black
On a hot Diamond 2, the U14 Black Cats took on the Jags in a tightly contested match. The team continues to grow in confidence and ability, highlighted by some outstanding defensive efforts, including a superb tag-out at second base. Offensively, all players made contact with the bat, with Mya producing the standout hit of the game—a three-base drive to the outfield.
In a see-saw contest that could have gone either way, the Cats fought hard but were unable to hold on in the final innings, going down 7–6 in the bottom of the last dig.
This week’s iPlay award went to Mya for an outstanding performance, particularly behind the plate, catching superbly in challenging hot conditions.

U14s Blue
U14 Blue Cats broke through for their first win with a strong 13–5 victory over the Vikings. It was a genuine team effort, with plenty to like across the game. Highlights included a sharp line-drive catch at pitcher by Ava and a well-struck home run from Liryc. Most pleasing was the clear improvement across the group — skills lifting, confidence growing, and lots of good moments to build on. Player of the match Ava
